Roxana Petcu

Roxana is a PhD student at the University of Amsterdam, where her research focuses on information retrieval, large language models, and reinforcement learning for general retrieval and RAG systems. Her work explores how language models reason, how to decompose queries for meeting complex information needs, and how models make decisions under uncertainty. She is passionate about AI for science, particularly simulation-based discovery and interpretable AI systems that accelerate scientific progress.
