Anaïs Berkes

Anaïs is a Gates Cambridge Scholar and PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge, where she develops generalisable reinforcement learning (RL) models for the decarbonisation of buildings. Her research focuses on meta RL, in-context RL, and model-based RL methods that enable adaptive and data-efficient control across diverse building types. She is also interested in the safety and reliability of AI systems. Before starting her PhD, Anaïs studied Computer Science at ETH Zürich, where she was a Student Partner at Founderful VC, a venture capital fund supporting early-stage technology start-ups in Switzerland.
