Jan is a PhD researcher in Physics and Chemistry at Cambridge University. He explores new biophysical analysis and sensing platforms at the intersection of photonic and microfluidic technologies.

He is passionate about bringing budding scientific ideas out of the laboratory and into actionable innovation, which is why he joined the Creator Fund in January 2021. He uses his academic and professional background in physics, electronics, and hardware design to evaluate the potential of new ventures. Outside the sciences, he studied the history and philosophy of science in different cultures for his MA degrees.

Jan is an alumnus of the Studienstiftung and the Haniel Foundation, and speaks English, German and Japanese.
