Luca Girardi

Luca is a fourth-year doctoral candidate in Aerial Robotics at ETH Zürich, where he draws inspiration from flying animals to design, model, and control novel “soft” drones with shape-shifting properties and improved versatility. He holds a BSc in Mechatronic Engineering, an MSc in Bionics Engineering and Biorobotics, and a Master’s in Industrial and Information Engineering. Throughout his multidisciplinary studies and research projects, Luca gained practical experience in robotics, continuum mechanics, machine learning, and computational neuroscience.
